D°LIGHT HUGGABLE

The design of D°Light Huggable™ is inspired by sunlight. The comforting rays of the sun are shared by people around the world. It is the essence of people’s everyday lives. Sunlight not only represents warmth and light, it also creates happiness, joy, playfulness, intimacy and life. However, people often take this for granted, missing the sunlight only when it is unavailable. The concept is to create a light that captures the essences of sunlight as a reminder, condensing it into something people can bond with. The D°Light in D°Light Huggable™ comes from the sound of the word ray, as in a ray of sunlight, and promotes the idea of RE-inspiration from the sun.
D°Light Huggable™ is constructed of a furry pillow cover wrapped around a series of LED lights embedded in silicone bubbles. The idea is to use the properties of silicone as a diffuser for the LED lights. The silicone is naturally a translucent white, and when lit with warm white LEDs, it creates a very comforting glow similar to sunlight. The tactile, heat-absorbing silicone mimics a living creature that is warm to the touch and almost hugs back at you as you hold it. The shape and material for the pillow cover encourages people to touch, hold and bond with D°Light Huggable™. This pillow light is battery operated so people can bring it with them wherever they go. D°Light Huggable™ comes with an easy-to-use, rechargeable battery.
