Quasar inflatable furniture and structures first saw the light in 1969. At that time young people reviled the solid foundations of traditional constructions, considered as the mark of conservative values, as opposed to nomadism, a sign of freedom and possible progression towards new spaces. They cursed the right angle and viewed it as a constraint, a reactionary conditioning technique, and cultivated the curve, a symbol of all libertarian virtues. They advocated tolerance and openness to others, wore loose clothes and sang the praises of supple phrasing and the distorted sounds of Jimi Hendrix: they were known as Hippies.
They were the first enthusiasts of inflatable furniture. Its aesthetic quality of the ephemeral, of mobility, of transformation and transparency make it an expression of a more open world.
Not satisfied with winning the enthusiasm of the May 68\' crowd, inflatable furniture captivated a whole new generation. And of course something inflatable is always transportable. More than ever, mobility, flexibility and freedom reign supreme in our society. The Quasar line is the incarnation of this furniture.
But don’t be misled: lightness is not a synonym of fragility. Top marks for Quasar Khanh; he is the first to integrate small strips into the structure of his inflatable armchairs, thus providing them with support and avoiding any deformation of the material. In addition, the thickness of the PVC used in the preparation of the Quasar line is 60 microns; that is, 3 times as thick as the PVC usually used to manufacture inflatable furniture. Finally, the seat, the back and the arm rests, instead of being welded, are joined together by metal rings: no more tears! |
