Erin Hayne & Nuno Goncalves Ferreira

Erin Hayne: Born in San Francisco in 1976, Erin graduated in studio art and international studies from Pitzer College in California. She received a grant to study glass sculpture at the Corning Museum and studied art and design in Italy and at the Rhode Island School of Design. Erin earned a graduate degree in fiber at the Savannah College of Art and Design for her work handmade felt textiles. She developed felt products and displays for interior designer and architects, and was selected as a 2005 Niche Awards Finalist for her felt wall hanging, Stella. In 2006 Erin founded Visual Reference Studio with Nuno Gonçalves Ferreira.

Nuno Gonçalves Ferreira: Born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1973 Nuno studied art in Den Haag, Holland and graduated in sculpture from the University of Fine Arts in Lisbon in 2001.He has worked in many areas within the arts including costume design, set design, performance art and video, and his sculpture and installations have been exhibited in museums and galleries in Portugal, Spain, and Holland and at international Art fairs. In 2001 Nuno founded and directed Atelier Insuflavel, a design studio with a focus in packaging and product design, plastics technology, and custom casting. In 2005 Nuno moved to the United States and founded Visual Reference Studio in 2006 with Erin Hayne.
